Several of these clocks were framed in carved mahogany. In 1845, the wooden gear movement was replaced with brass movements. In 1853, the company was officially named Seth Thomas Clock Company. After Thomas’s death in 1859, his sons introduced new clock styles. The Seth Thomas calendar antique wall clocks for kitchens were some of the most popular. In 1875, Plymouth Hollow was renamed as Thomaston in honour of Seth Thomas. Since that time, many styles were created including long case clocks, mantel, table-top and Seth Thomas wall clocks.
